the following clip is about an artist named sarah baker, whose art explores and comments on celebrity culture. apparently the artist, as a part of a project, rented a limo, walked around with an entourage, and dressed herself up like a celebrity...then actually got treated like one. it was a simple (and fun) way to invoke the question, "what makes a celebrity?"
on that note, GLORIOUS EXCESS (DIES), the continuation of my art show at JANM in los angeles, will be debuting in january 2009. i'm starting to work on the new pieces now...
